Sprouting Lentils are an edible legume known for its lens-shaped seeds and grow on sparsely branched vines from 18 to 24 inches tall. They have small whitish to light purple pea-like flowers which produces a short pod that contains 1-3 seeds.

A seed starting soil mix is designed to give seeds everything they need to start growing. They are typically finer and lighter than regular soil mixes. This mix should contain ingredients such as compost, perlite, vermiculite, and peat moss.
