The Philodendron maximum has huge leaf blades reaching up to 64 inches in length.  It has petioles that are sharply D-or U-shaped near its base.  It has erect edges and medium to dark green, semiglossy, smooth and somewhat spongy leaves.

A seed starting soil mix is designed to give seeds everything they need to start growing. They are typically finer and lighter than regular soil mixes. This mix should contain ingredients such as compost, perlite, vermiculite, and peat moss.

This plant is said to be one of the world's largest Philodendron species which is so called because it clings to trees.
