Owl Eye Cactus grows wild in central Mexico, globose cactus with pyramidal tubercles and a dense coating of white bristles that blooms with rings of small, yellow flowers with red mid-stripes that crown each stem. They are not large succulents.

Use this soil mix for succulents, palms, cactus, citrus, plumeria, and some tropical plants. A good Succulent, Palm and Citrus soil mix is a coarse, well-drained soil that is about one-third sand. It should absorb water quickly and provide excellent drainage. This soil mix should contain ingredients such as recycled forest products, pumice, sand, bark fines, dehydrated poultry manure, and hydrolyzed feather meal.
