Mountain Aloe has a very robust appearance and bright flowers.  Its thick greyish-green leaves taper from a broad base to a sharp point and can grow up to 5’ feet long!   In more humid areas, the leaves may appear as a more vibrant green.  As the plant ages, it loses many of its sharp spines.  It can bloom long flower stems that are silled with reddish yellow flowers.  A very hardy and unique succulent.

As with many other plants in the Aloe plant genus, this species is being studied for a range of medicinal uses.
