While Lavender is traditionally grown outdoors, it can also be grown indoors with the right conditions. Lavender needs hot, bright light to produce its fragrant purple flowers. Try placing near a south-facing window for optimal light exposure.

Also harvested commercially for the extraction of essential oils, for centuries, this plant has been used for traditional medicine and also cosmetics. Their flowers are borne in whorls that may be blue, violet or lilac in the wild species, occasionally blackish purple or yellowish.
