Epiphyllum oxypetalum also known as Dutchman's pipe cactus and is a species of cactus that grows on other plants that have cylindrical stems.  The cactus has elliptic, leaf-like scalloped dark green branches and produces white sweetly scented circular-shaped flowers with narrow petals that only bloom at night and wilt before dawn.

A seed starting soil mix is designed to give seeds everything they need to start growing. They are typically finer and lighter than regular soil mixes. This mix should contain ingredients such as compost, perlite, vermiculite, and peat moss.

This plant rarely blooms and only at night.
