The Cryptanthus 'Pink Star' resembles a flattened starfish with its wavy, green and pink striped leaves. It may take several years to flower, and once it does, it will slowly begin to die. Not to worry though, as it will produce new baby plants that you can grow into larger Cryptanthus 'Pink Stars'.

Orchids grow best in a mix with excellent drainage and air circulation. The most common ingredients are perlite, peat moss, tree fern, or tree bark. Look for additional ingredients such as rockwool, sand, charcoal, cork, and fir bark. Some other plants such as Air Plants also do well in an orchid soil mix.
