Aloe vera has pleasant plump and fleshy leaves. It's easy to care for and has practical benefits. Often called the burn plant, aloe vera is used to treat minor skin irritations and burns. This plant is happiest near a sunny window or outdoors.

The best fertilizers to use are liquid 10-40-10 houseplant mixes, or mixes designed specifically for succulents. Avoid granular fertilizers. If your aloe is in a container, water it thoroughly the day before feeding. This should flush out any lingering salts and reduce the risk of tip burn.

This easy-going succulent has medicinal benefits, and purifies the air.

Once the top inch (or 2.5 cm) of soil feels dry, it's time to water. Reduce watering frequency in the winter.

I have had my Aloe for over a year and accidentally broke off a ton of leaves in the beginning…no worries this plant is super hardy and came back even fuller 

This is the plant that started my obsession. Easy care and ok with neglect. Fun to use for skin boo boos/burns. Gives me tons of babies that are easy to propogate. Can get huge (4x4x4 ft potted indoors)!

Nice to look at, and pretty easy to care for. Don’t overwater or keep in direct sunlight and it should be fine.

I like my aloe plant. It's easy to take care of since it doesn't require much water, but it does need a spot with good sunlight and space for the leaves to spread. I have it by a window so I rotate it often so its leaves don't all grow in one direction. Low maintenance and multi-use! I haven't used it for sunburns or drinks yet, but I like that I have the option.
